What Length Of Tiny Home Trailer Foundation is Best For You?
At Tiny House Basics our goal is to simplify the build process for your tiny house with the most intuitive and easiest to build tiny home trailer design on the market! We proudly build foundations specifically designed to support your dream tiny home and handle the unique characterics of weight distribution and strength a tiny home on wheels requires.. We build sizes in full foot increments from 10ft feet up to 52ft in total length. Each trailer is custom built and can be designed to your specific needs with custom bumpouts, anchor points to match your floor plan, unique crossmember placements to match you plumbing and design needs and the list can go on. We design and built our tiny house trailer foundations to handle the unique loads of a tiny house around the perimeter of the trailer frame. We DO NOT use flanges (flat stock steel) on the sides like our competitors because those lead to mold issues under the framing. All our trailers are built from box tube frames and crossmembers which allows the tiny house trailer foundation to be uniformly insulated in the floor. Choose your ideal tiny house trailer through our custom quote form and Let us share with you our experiences as builders and tiny home dwellers for almost a decade to get you started off on the right foot!

Tiny Home Trailers Sizes from 10ft – 18ft
Tiny Home Trailer Foundations between 10ft-16ft & 18ft length cater specifically to individuals seeking a more streamlined and minimalist lifestyle. A 10ft or 12ft tiny house is primarily designed as a bedroom unit, making it an ideal choice for solo adventurers or those looking for a compact retreat. It’s only when you approach the 18ft mark that the space becomes versatile enough to incorporate a kitchenette alongside the sleeping area and possibly a small bathroom. These sizes are perfect for those who value mobility, simplicity, and a reduced environmental footprint. An 18ft tiny house, while still compact, offers a bit more breathing room, allowing for a balance between essential amenities and the charm of tiny living. Choosing a home within this size range signifies a commitment to efficient living without sacrificing comfort.”

Tiny Home Trailers Sizes that are 26ft
26ft tiny homes mark a significant transition in the world of tiny living. Offering a bit more space than the 24ft models, these homes provide residents with that extra room to breathe, making them even more appealing to those looking for a slightly more expansive tiny living experience. One of the pivotal considerations with a 26ft tiny house is the choice of trailer. While it’s possible to use a tandem axle tiny home trailer for this size, it requires meticulous attention to the weight of the materials used in the build. Given the close proximity to weight limits, many opt for the security and peace of mind that comes with a triple-axle tiny home trailer. This ensures that builders and residents alike can freely choose their materials without constantly worrying about weight constraints. In essence, a 26ft tiny house offers a blend of spaciousness and flexibility, making it a wise choice for those who want a bit more room without venturing into the larger tiny home sizes.

Tiny Home Trailers Sizes that are 31ft – 36ft
Spanning from 31ft to 36ft in length, these tiny houses have emerged as some of the most sought-after sizes for those committed to the tiny living lifestyle. Especially popular in both 10ft and 12ft wide configurations, they offer a spaciousness that feels both expansive and intimate. The wider 12ft models when used on a bumper pull tiny home trailer in particular, provide even more room, making them ideal for those who desire extra space for amenities or design features. Whether you opt for a bumper pull or a gooseneck design, these sizes cater to a variety of preferences. Choosing a gooseneck adds an additional 8ft to the lower deck, providing an elevated space that’s perfect for a master bedroom or a cozy lounge area. The gooseneck style is most popular paired with the 10ft wide models and the 12ft is best paired with a bumper pull tiny home trailer. These dimensions have been recognized not just for their aesthetic appeal, but also for their practicality. For individuals or families considering long-term tiny living, the 31ft to 36ft range strikes an optimal balance, ensuring comfort, functionality, and a sense of home.

Tiny Home Trailers Sizes that are 36ft – 40ft
Within the 36ft to 40ft range, These tiny home trailer sizes have carved a niche for themselves, especially in the 10ft and 12ft wide configurations. The 40ft x 10ft model, in particular, has gained significant traction, as it neatly encompasses a total of 400 square feet of floor space, making it a favorite for those aiming to maximize their living area without exceeding the typical tiny home size definition. These dimensions are not just about space but also about the versatility they offer. They can comfortably accommodate couples and even families with children, ensuring that everyone has their own cozy corner. Moreover, the deckover tiny home option is frequently chosen in this size range, offering a single-level floor plan that eliminates the need for lofts or multiple levels. This design choice is especially appealing to those who prefer a more traditional home feel, with all the benefits of tiny living.

Tiny Home Trailers Sizes that are 40ft – 44ft
Those looking for a lot of space in a tiny home should consider our 40ft to 44ft range. The 44ft size is the biggest bumper pull trailer we make, and it’s a favorite for those wanting maximum space. A notable feature of these sizes is that they are almost always ordered as deck overs. This means the entire width of the trailer is flat, without wheel wells sticking up. The advantage? You get a clean slate for your floor plan without the challenge of framing around wheel wells. It simplifies the building process and maximizes usable space. But, with a bigger size come a few things to think about. These trailers need bigger parking spots because of their length. So, if you’re thinking of getting one, it’s a good idea to plan where you’ll park it. Also, since these are the biggest trailers we offer, they do cost more. We’re not saying this to scare you away, but just so you know what to expect. If you want an even longer trailer, you can add a gooseneck hitch. But if you’re happy with a bumper pull, the 44ft size is the largest and roomiest option we have.

Gooseneck Tiny Home Trailers
For those dreaming of a spacious tiny home, our Gooseneck Tiny Home Trailers are a top pick. These trailers provide a sturdy foundation, ensuring your home is both safe and durable. What sets them apart? Firstly, they’re perfect for larger homes. While our bumper pull trailers reach up to 44ft, adding a gooseneck hitch extends this to an impressive 52ft. This design also offers a stand-up bedroom on the hitch platform, meaning no more climbing ladders to lofts. If you’re on the move often, the gooseneck design is a traveler’s dream. Its weight distribution over the tow vehicle’s rear axle ensures smoother towing and better maneuverability.
Customization is another perk. The upper deck’s default height is 48 inches above the main deck, but we can adjust this to your preference, even as low as 32 inches. However, remember that a lower deck might need a specific tow vehicle. Width-wise, you’re spoiled for choice, with options ranging up to 12ft wide.
In essence, our Gooseneck Tiny Home Trailers are ideal for those wanting flexibility, space, and a reliable foundation, whether your home is cozy or a grand 52ft. A few things to note: these trailers are pricier per foot, making them best for homes 26ft and up. If you’re not a fan of lofts, our Deckover option gives you a flat main deck, making design and movement easier. And don’t stress about towing; many owners hire professionals for that job.
In addition to the above features based on GVWR.
- 8ft Long Deck On Gooseneck Hitch (width will match chosen for the lower deck)
- 48” Standard Upper Deck Height (51” in Pennsylvania) You can choose a custom upper deck height at no additional cost. 12k Gooseneck Jack.
